Think it is a very good deal.
Think the appeal of this console is the fact it might be the first from Nintendo that will have a variety of mature content games which a lot out there are waiting for.
Also the graphics are now competitive against the PS3 and XBox 360.
Side-by-side on the booth Tomb Raider and Hitman looks and plays terrific.
New Splinter Cell Blacklist game play preview is also very very impressive., it's great the developers have put back a lot of the old favorites from the original game while also progressing.
Awe-inspiring bodywork and background detail/shadow/lighting on Project Cars. Side mirrors only the minor bit to comment about.
Just bought my fave game from the original XBox Splinter Cell but this time the Sony PS3 trilogy pack 3D-HD version. Am loving the entire series all over again.
Have also been at EXPO 2012 and saw the new Splinter Cell: Blacklist and have to say it looks gorgeous and the game play preview spectacular. Didn't really liked Double Agent, think they veered away from it's roots but this new Blacklist, has a lot of the original stuff plus more.
Looking forward to...
Had a great experience playing Journey.
Have been reading news that this new generation of 4K television screens would cost as much as a brand new car.
But also sure as with all things concerning this type of technology, the price will quickly plummet once other manufacturers come into play.
This is basically Sony synchronizing the upcoming PS4 console with all their television/moviecam/camera department.
Go Faith Go!
Honestly a lot of modders are really using popular games like Skyrim ( and others ) not to promote textures and such but actually pornographic material like it was 2nd Life.
Some do a job at it while some are just blatantly bad and does a lot of injustice to the game.
3D in stereoscopic as a technology actually works whether the person using it has either the pricier active or affordable passive glass system.
It all comes down to how good the movie industry and game developers adapt the technology properly and effectively to capture their audience.
Blame goes to the people who put out those first batch of 3D Blu Ray films that have no credibility at all. It's only now that a few ( and more to come ) are worth collecting.
It's not only Sony who's selling 3D screens, there's Samsung, LG, Toshiba, Panasonic ( LED and Plasma ), Sharp, Hisense, Sonic etc.
For PC ( besides gaming can also be used to watch 3D Blu Ray movies ) - ASUS, Acer, BenQ, Viewsonic, AOC, Samsung, LG etc.
All with differing price points, but mostly more affordable as ever. Remember a few years back a Full-HD LCD 40inch roughly costs about 2,500 - 3,000 now you can get a 55inch LED 2D/3D for the same amount. ...
Still is and will always be expensive.
Stereoscopic 3D worked out really fine using either active and passive shutter glass technology.. just to get that out of the way.
In a way it's not really the games but more the films that are using 3D which attracts more buyers to this technology.
I think the problem started with the first batch of 3D Blu Ray movies were not really very good. And they chose the region of kids demography which is a brilliant idea but then the 3D related films they released wer...
It would be hard to outdo the benchmarks set by the PS3 - easy expandable HDD upgrade, 3D/Blu-Ray games and movies and other pay/free download content.
Especially if you compare it with the PS2.
I'm sure the PS4 will be a lot more powerful and again graphically better.
I really didn't experience anything bad with the PS3 version.
Pity though the game cannot go the multi-platform way because of trademark issues which is quite understandable.
As a gamer it sits just about halfway with all the bundle deals included for now.. come December we'll know the results if they ( Sony ) have succeeded but as a marketing strategy I'm sure it was meant to take some sales away from the new kid in the block - Nintendo's Wii U.
I'll wait for the console release.. but also now reconsidering my options on getting a Wii U for this game and a couple of other titles.
It's not so much because it's close to the release of the PS4 ( in maybe a year or two ) but mainly of the Wii U.
My last Nintendo system was the 64, so I am still sort of researching tech and game related things before considering getting a Wii U.
Have outgrown every Mario and other kiddie related Nintendo games and into more mature content games like those offered on the PS3/XBox360 which I both have.
Already seen a lot of games lined up for the Wii U and must say they are quite enticing.
After seeing a couple of previews and having a go at some games, watching/taking photos of cosplayers and collectible exhibit toys and other stuff, thought it was a nice experience..
..but still lacking. I'm sure it will improve in time.
I don't know if mixing comics and games - like a back-to-back Oz Comic-con and EB Expo would be a good idea because they both cater to the same crowds?
